Privacy policy
Last updated: DATE
Ruello is run by YOUR NAME OR COMPANY, ADDRESS, Switzerland (contact: EMAIL). This policy explains what we store and why. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and, for players in the EU, the GDPR.
What we store
Without an account: a random player ID kept in your browser, your games (questions asked, guesses, scores) and, if you choose, the name you put on a leaderboard. We don't know who you are.
With an account: your email address, the name you pick, your sessions (which devices are signed in) and your games and scores.
With Ruello Pro: Stripe handles the payment. We receive your Stripe customer ID and the status of your subscription. We never see or store your card details.
Technical data: to stop abuse, we briefly keep the IP address of sign-in attempts (deleted after one day). Our host, Cloudflare, processes connection data to deliver the site.
What we don't do
No advertising, no tracking cookies, no analytics that follow you, and we don't sell data. The only cookie is the sign-in cookie, which is strictly necessary.
Who helps us
Cloudflare (hosting and database), Stripe (payments, only for Pro), Resend (sign-in emails), OpenFreeMap (map tiles; your browser loads them directly) and the OpenStreetMap Overpass service (street lookups). Some of these are outside Switzerland; we rely on their standard data protection terms.
How long we keep it
Daily games and scores are kept so you keep your history. Other games are deleted after 120 days. Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes. Sessions expire after 60 days.
Your rights
You can see and change your name in your account, and delete your account at any time from the account screen. Deleting it removes your email, name, sessions and leagues, and anonymises your past scores. For anything else, such as a copy of your data, email EMAIL.
